Benjamin Krinsky Assistant Director of Federal Strategy
As assistant director of Federal Strategy, Ben works on a myriad of topics that affect the university and health system, including accreditation, student aid, Title IX, transportation infrastructure, and tax and finance issues. He works closely with peer institutions and external coalitions to advocate for policies that advance JHU’s academic, scholarly, and community service missions.
Prior to Johns Hopkins, Ben held federal relations positions at the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB), Yale University, and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). An experienced advocate for scientific research, Ben previously served on the steering committee of the Coalition for National Science Funding (CNSF), a DC-based coalition focused on promoting funding for the National Science Foundation (NSF). In winter 2015, Ben was a Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
Ben received his PhD from the Committee on Evolutionary Biology at the University of Chicago and his undergraduate degree in biology from Yale. In his spare time, Ben enjoys reading, cycling, and traveling.
